Logline: The last self-help book you will ever need.
Concept: The first self-help book to cut through the psychobabble we’ve been encouraged to swallow by the spoonful and sometimes the truckload since the dawn of the warm and fuzzy, I’m Okay-You’re Okay, post-Leave It To Beaver era. This book, sticking out more tongue than cheek, takes a funny look at how to get a grip as you come to grips with the real source of all your emotional and psychological damage:
The author, Dr. Eddy Paul Compless, has no formal training save for the fact that he was successfully fired by more than 15 therapists in 20 years. During that time, he’s been randomly diagnosed with OCD, ADD, depression, histrionic personality disorder, As-If personality, caffeine addiction, and even a few conditions that haven’t been recognized by the DSM IV. Indeed, it’s only a matter of time before the A.P.A. hauls him in for a rewrite, and Dr. Phil kicks him off his show.
